Started Relaxation time: 11:50pm
Got in Bed to read by: 11:50 pm
Turned out lights to sleep by: 12:05am
Guesstimate of when I fell asleep: 12:50am
Guesstimate of when I woke up: 2:00am
Had alarm set to: 9:00am
Got out of Bed at: 9:30am
Total Time I slept: 6 Hours and XX Minutes
I managed to get in bed on an earlier note, and I read a bit. After reading and listening to the ocean mp3, I turned out the lights. I consciously thought of keeping thoughts out of my mind as I tried to dose off. It probably took close to an hour before I fell alseep.
I then woke up at random around 2:00am and I eventually fell back asleep. The next time I was up was around 6:00am. I woke up to the sound of my phone chiming multiple times. I then got up, got a drink, fed the cat, and eventually got back in bed. At this time I was debating on staying up and starting to work, but decided to try to get an hour of sleep or so.
I laid there easily for an hour trying to sleep, and then eventually I did fall alseep. I then got up at 9:30am and started my day.
Good job on getting in bed, but staying alseep is the next challenge.
Good luck with your blog and your quest to get more sleep. I just wanted to mention a little gadget that could probably help improve your project, the GoWear Fit. It is primilarily advertised as a weight loss device, but it has a great sleep tracking feature. It is a little armband computer with built in sensors that you wear 24/7 and it tracks your calorie expendeture, steps, activity, sleep, and sleep efficency.
Although it is marketed as a weight loss and lifestyle device, the biggest bit of information I got from it in my first week was a REAL peak into my sleeping habits - you can check my blog to see my thoughts: http://goathletefit.blogspot.com/2009/03/10-days-paramount-realization.html
Buk
Thanks for the luck Buk. As you can see I am like a roller coaster at times of the month. I’ve tracked since the new year (2009) and will be posting my back logged diary posts soon.
I just read up on the and it looks pretty cool. Overall the reviews are positive, while some reviews talk about it being buggy, and other technical stuff. I am definitely interested to hear how it holds up to your tests, and will consider buying one if it seems worthy.
