4-23-09 - Slept but woke up early too

Started Relaxation time: 11:50pm
Got in Bed to read by: 12:00pm
Turned out lights to sleep by: 12:50am
Guesstimate of when I fell asleep: 1:20am
Guesstimate of when I woke up: 4:15am
Had alarm set to: 7:55am
Got out of Bed at: 9:15am
Total Time I slept: 3 Hours and XX Minutes

Last night I came home later and didn’t want to get my brain working so I decided to shut down the computers around 11:45pm, and hop in bed to read.  I read till about 12:50pm and decided to crash, and was actually feeling tired. I fell asleep in a decent amount of time, but was wide awake at 4:15am.  Got up and got a drink, but I was wide awake and laid awake till at least 5:30am. I eventually dozed off a bit and my alarm first went off at 7:55am, but I snoozed and then reset it to 9:00am.  I got out of bed after laying there feeling beat down tired.  Once I was up I feel good, so I think I need to practice just getting out of bed no matter how much or little sleep I get, and start the day.  I can always decide to sleep more on a planned day if I need it, so start pushing the limits and get up regardless!

4-16-09 - Fell asleep but woke up early

Total Time I slept: 4 Hours and 15 Minutes

Last night I wasn’t overly tired but I hopped in bed and after a while got tired.  Once the lights went out I fell asleep quickly.  I decided to set my alarm a little later today, but now I realize I shouldn’t have.

I was up again around 5:00am but am not sure why.  From then on I was in a daze and was having some wacky dreams.  I ended up oversleeping and got out of bed around 9:35am.  I need to stick to the earlier time, and might need to try to go to sleep by 12:30am if that is possible to help get more sleep?

I need to really get back to my relaxation breathing and thought strategies to help me block out thoughts and keep my brain at ease. Also, I should calculate out exactly 6 or 7 hours of sleep and get up at that time and see how I feel to see which is more optimal for my body.

4-15-09 - Fell alseep quick and was tired

Guesstimate of when I woke up: 5:45am
Had alarm set to: 8:05am
Got out of Bed at: 9:00am
Total Time I slept: 4 Hours and 45 Minutes

Last night I was tired. I worked a long day and night at the office so by the time I got home I didn’t do any work.  Instead I went online and surfed a little personally, without work involved or on the brain.  By around 11:45 I was feeling a little tired so I decided to turn down the computers and start relaxing.

I wrote some notes and by 12:40 I was tired so I hit the lights.  Within about 15 minutes I was sound alseep.  I told myself the affirmation that I was going to get a relaxing night of sleep.

I woke up around 5:45am, not sure why but I was wide awake. I managed to doze off a little more in the following hours leading up till my alarm.  Once the alarm went off I was lazy so I snoozed a bunch, and then changed the alarm to 9:00am.  I got up at the alarm and felt great, and started my day.

Overall, I woke up and was in and out of sleep after 5:45am, but it was still a pretty restful night.
