4-16-09 - Fell asleep but woke up early

Started Relaxation time: 12:15pm
Got in Bed to read by: 12:30pm
Turned out lights to sleep by: 12:55am
Guesstimate of when I fell asleep: 1:10am
Guesstimate of when I woke up: 5:05am
Had alarm set to: 8:45am
Got out of Bed at: 9:35am
Total Time I slept: 4 Hours and 15 Minutes

Last night I wasn’t overly tired but I hopped in bed and after a while got tired.  Once the lights went out I fell asleep quickly.  I decided to set my alarm a little later today, but now I realize I shouldn’t have.

I was up again around 5:00am but am not sure why.  From then on I was in a daze and was having some wacky dreams.  I ended up oversleeping and got out of bed around 9:35am.  I need to stick to the earlier time, and might need to try to go to sleep by 12:30am if that is possible to help get more sleep?

I need to really get back to my relaxation breathing and thought strategies to help me block out thoughts and keep my brain at ease. Also, I should calculate out exactly 6 or 7 hours of sleep and get up at that time and see how I feel to see which is more optimal for my body.

Guesstimate of when I woke up: 6:30am
Had alarm set to: 9:30am
Got out of Bed at: 9:50am
Total Time I slept: 5 Hours and XX Minutes

Last night was a decent night of sleep.  I got in bed to read.  Started re-reading Mind Power into the 21st Century, and wanted to keep reading but at 1:00am I told myself to stick to the plan and go to sleep.  I managed to fall asleep within probably 20 minutes, and slept great till about 6:30.

I was able to fall back asleep but it was very spotty, and I was having these wacky vivid dreams.  I then decided to get out of bed around 9:50am, but I probably could have gotten up at 9:00am since I was awake most of the time since.

The sun was out bright and early, and I am eliminating my black out shades now that spring is here since I want to use the sun as a way to get up earlier and more regularly.

Got out of Bed at:            10:00am
Total Time I slept:            6 Hours and 15 Minutes

I got in bed super late because I wanted to work, and I was working on my sleep blog getting it all formatted and stuff.  I hopped in bed, put the rain mp3 on, and within a few minutes I was passed out.

I slept all the way till about 10:00am as far as I can remember  and I didn’t really wake up at all in the middle of the night.   Not sure why, but instead of waking up I was having extremely vivid dreams so my sleep later in the morning felt less rested but I did stay asleep so that is great.

Overall I went to bed later than I should have, but I did get a good night sleep.

I need to crack the whip and get back to my schedule of relaxation time and turn the computers off at a specific time at night to get the chill mode under way.
